What’s Included:
For just $100, you’ll enjoy a 1-hour hands-on flying experience that includes:
Ground Lesson (pre-flight): Learn the basics of how airplanes work, safety checks, and what to expect in the air.
Flight Experience: Take off with your instructor, enjoy the views, and even take the controls to see what it feels like to fly.
Post-Flight Review: Discuss what you learned and next steps if you’d like to continue your training.
Flight Training Overview
Learning to fly may sound complicated, but the process is straightforward — and we’ll be with you every step of the way. At Natchez Flight Training, we keep things simple, flexible, and focused on your goals.
How Flight Training Works
- Ground Lessons: Before you fly, you’ll learn the basics — how airplanes work, rules of the air, weather, and navigation.
- Flight Lessons: You’ll fly with a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) who teaches you hands-on skills in the airplane.
- Practice & Progress: Each lesson builds on the last. You’ll log flight hours toward the FAA’s requirements.
- Checkride: When you’re ready, you’ll take a practical test (similar to a driving test) with an FAA examiner to earn your license.
Your Starting Point
Most students begin with a Discovery Flight — a one-hour session where you sit in the pilot’s seat, fly with an instructor, and get a feel for what flight training is like. From there, we’ll talk with you about your goals and create a training plan that fits your schedule.

- Flight or Ground Instruction: $65 per hour
